Vtg 1972 German Sport Medal-Jackie Stewart World Champ-4th Kuhbacher Hiking Day

Offered is this vintage German hiking or sport pinback medal from the 4th Kuhbacher Hiking Day, held in 1972. The medal has a metal irregular oval (like a racetrack) featuring a raised image of auto racing champion Jackie Stewart, with his name and "World Champion 1969 & 1971" in raised letters in German. This part is hung from a red, white and blue striped ribbon. Attached to the ribbon is an enameled metal pin with a crossed German flag and a racing checkered flag. The ribbon is suspended from a metal racecar-shaped piece with the words "4 Kuhbacher Hiking Day 1972" in German. I don't know what if any connection Jackie Stewart had with this event. This is a rare find; at the time of original listing I could not find another medal like this or any other medal with an image of Jackie Stewart of any kind for sale on eBay.
The piece is approx. 4 1/2" from top to bottom and about 2 1/4" across. It is in very good condition. The cloth ribbon is clean and intact, the metal is bright, with very little surface wear and the pinback opens and closes correctly.
