  • Condition: One of her booties is stained. Her jumper is fragile and has a repair on the back (2.5" X 2") of one sleeve and other tiny holes and stains. Do not lift her by her jumper or it could tear. Otherwise, good condition. No odors.

    Description

    Up for auction is a wonderful, vintage, cloth doll made by African American, Detroit artist, Gayle Watson, who has signed her name on the back of the dolls torso. This doll has a primitive, country appearance.
    She has been purposely stained to give her an antique look. She has button eyes, an embroidered triangle nose and mouth.
    She wears a sweet, old cotton jumper with a bunny embroidered on it. Her bonnet is made from an antique quilt with faded, pastel colors.  You cannot remove her bonnet because it has been glued to her head.
    She wears cream colored wool booties with blue embroidery.
    This doll is beautifully made and is charming and makes a sweet presentation!

    Size: 23" including her hat.
    Condition: One of her booties is stained. Her jumper is fragile and has a repair on the back  of one sleeve
    (2.5" X 2")
    and  other tiny holes and stains. Do not lift her by her jumper or it could tear. Otherwise, this doll is in good condition and there are no odors.
    Doll stands and chairs are not included in this sale.
