Vintage 1936 Effanbee Composition Dewees Cochran American Child Portrait Doll. This doll is 17 inches tall. She has a light brown human hair wig with bangs and braids. Her wig is thinning in the back. She has sleepy bright blue eyes that open and close freely. She has all of her lashes and a closed rosebud mouth. It has been suggested that these are not her original eyes. Having never actually seen one of these dolls in person, I didn’t know, but it seems correct. Her face shows some light crazing. All of her fingers are in great condition and show detail. She has some chipping on her left arm. Her legs and torso are in excellent condition and have a nice sheen. She has some chipping on the back of her head beside her markings. Her head is marked Effanbee American Children. Her back is marked Effanbee Shirley Anne. She was designed by Dewees Cochran and produced by Effanbee Doll Company for the 1936 Toy Show. She is wearing a blue cotton dress of unknown origin with red ribbon trim. Condition is "Used".
