Tiara Glassware In 1970, Tiara Exclusives was formed. Indiana Glass produced glass for Tiara primarily using old moulds. Tiara items were sold through home parties Tiara glassware is a series of glass dishes, vases, home decor and serving dishes produced by the Indiana Glass Company from about 1970 to 1998. Indiana Glass founded Tiara Exclusives in 1970 and produced the majority of the glass sold through Tiara. Some of the patterns Indiana Glass produced for Tiara include Art Deco, Sweet Pear, Constellation, Crown, Dewdrop, Empress, Honey Boxes, Jolly Mountaineer, Lord's Supper, Monarch, Ponderosa, Sandwich and many more. NOTE: MOST ITEMS ARE REPRODUCTIONS (Except for Ponderosa Pine)
The Tiara glassware line is extensive, with assorted color and pattern options that mimicked higher-priced Depression glass. Tiara glass was produced with high standards by several companies including Indiana Glass Company, Fenton Art Glass, and Duncan and Miller. There were several different patterns pressed on the glass. The most popular was the Sandwich Glass Pattern. Colors varied and included the most popular golden amber, clear, Bicentennial a dark blue, teal green called spruce, pale peach, and Chantilly a pale, light green. Each color offered approximately eighty different pieces in the line. Hostess exclusives were specialty pieces offered exclusively as hostess incentives. By the 1960s, a reorganization had Indiana Glass Company as a subsidiary of Lancaster Colony Corporation. Indiana Glass had a resurgence in sales during the 1970s, and began marketing some of its tableware for the home through Lancaster Colony's Tiara Exclusives. Indiana Glass continued operating in Dunkirk until November 2002, when the plant was closed. Although a glass plant owned by Lancaster Colony continued operating in Oklahoma under the name Indiana Glass Company, that plant was shut down in 2008. In 1998, Lancaster Colony closed down Tiara.
