Made of durable 16-gauge mild steel tubing, the Hooker Competition header design utilizes a long transition collector to reduce back pressure and increase exhaust flow. Hooker Competition headers have a standard finish that features a heat-cured, high-heat-resistant paint. Optionally, the famous Hooker Ceramic Thermal Barrier Coating is available.

Must use original style big block motor mounts and frame stands. The paint applied to these headers is a temporary coating only and is designed to burn off during use. High temperature paint or other high temperature coatings are recommended.

Summary:
If you're getting headers for your BBC and want to go the cheapest route possible, this is your best bet. The mounting flanges are quality and they really are a quality product. I installed on a 1971 Nova that has a swapped in 454 with the correct BBC frame stands. Passenger side goes on easy but you'll need to make a few dents to clear the upper control arm and to get it away from the fuel line. The real issues begin on the driver side. There is absolutely no way you can fit these with power steering and not dent them. I bashed them multiple times to get the fitment right. You have to lift the engine up to get them in so it's a lot of trial and error. Also, you won't be able to use the stock linkage if you're using a column shifter. WITH THAT BEING SAID, I would get them again. Unless you have the money to buy 1500 dollar headers, you're probably going to have to make some dents in them and I knew that, so I went for the cheapest ones so it would hurt less banging on my brand new parts.

Summary:
Haven't installed them but the quality or the headers is great. Plan on ceramic coating them. shipping was cheap to Canada. Cant buy them for this price here. Terry Rudow

Return Policy
We want you to be satisfied with your purchase. If within 60 days after you receive your shipment and you are not satisfied, you may return the item for a refund. Returned merchandise must include all packaging materials, warranty cards, manuals, and accessories. If the items being returned need to be repackaged, there will be a repacking charge.
