1951 SWISS GRAND PRIX MOTORCYCLE & AUTO RACING CAR POSTER ART DECO AUTOMOBILIA
You are looking at a reproduction poster/print of the 1951 Swiss Grand Prix Bern featuring a motorcycle and a racing car speeding by. The Berne circuit was situated on the western outskirts of the Swiss capital. A true road circuit, it was first used for motorcycle racing in 1931. The first car races were run in 1934 and it was the venue for Swiss Grands Prix before the government banned all racing in Switzerland in 1955. It was on this hazardous course, also known as Bremgarten, that the courageous Achille Varzi was killed in practice for the 1948 European Grand Prix. Truly, one of the golden figures from a golden age.
What a fantastic poster! The poster measures approx. 11 x 17 inches. It is printed on thick 100 pound card stock paper.
